Solidarity actions transform lives. It was like that for the children of Guerreiros da Paz Group Nurserylocated in Brotas, who received, on March 14, 2019, a freezer and a copier as donations from Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública. The donation was the result of the collection made with the event Conscious Consumption Fair, promoted by young apprentices from Bahiana. The apprentices, together with Priscila Galvão, HR analyst and responsible for managing the Young Apprentice Program, delivered the gifts.

Priscila Galvão explains how the process of choosing the organization to whom the donation would be made took place: “A team of collaborators was responsible for researching institutions that were in the vicinity of the Bahiana de Brotas. The intention was to contribute to the well-being of the local community and help places in need. We visited the Guerreiros da Paz group and asked the institution's representative what they needed, and they told us that they needed a freezer and a copier to help run the daycare. So, with the money we raised from the Conscious Consumption Fair, held in June 2018, we bought the products and today we are delivering. It is an honor to participate in this action,” he says.

The administrative assistant and former young apprentice of the Bahiana, Monalisa Oliveira, creator of the Conscious Consumption Fair project, tells how this idea came about: “I was already doing volunteer work before and I thought about bringing this to the Bahiana, which is an institution with a sustainable nature. So, thinking about how to do this, the idea came up to promote the Conscious Consumption Fair, where we received donations of clothes, shoes, books and various items, we put these products on sale at very popular prices and the money raised was destined to an organization needed. THE Bahiana and the other young apprentices embraced the project with love and, this year, we will already have the second edition of the fair”.

The children at the daycare were very happy with the visit of the employees of the Bahiana, and the founder of Guerreiros da Paz, Italo Barreto, expressed his gratitude for having received this support: “This partnership with Bahiana it's amazing, we will always be grateful for these donations. For many people, these products can be simple, but for us, they are an immeasurable aid that will help these children to continue their studies here at the nursery. Our mission here is to help needy children, from the surrounding community, to have a formative education, with a focus on transforming them for a better future”.
