The teacher and coordinator of the Physiotherapy course at Bahiana, Luciana Bilitário, reports that the first volunteers were professors and students of the Physiotherapy course and that, over time, more courses were included, such as Physical Education, Psychology, Nursing and Medicine. Today there are representatives from all courses at the Bahiana, in addition to students, professionals and professors from other institutions. So having a mix of volunteers.

Luciana highlights that, since the beginning of the project, the idea has been to promote assisted bathing in a responsible and safe manner: “... our role continues to be to guarantee technical safety for all people who will enter the sea”. According to the teacher, there is also a breaking of paradigms and barriers regarding accessibility, for students and former students of the Bahiana it is aggregating to participate in the practice of leisure, which differs from experiences in the classroom.

The volunteer and student of Dentistry at Bahiana, Gabriel Almeida, says he took part in an uplifting moment for “being able to help those who spend a year waiting for the project or those who spend decades without going to the beach”. He adds that he has participated in the action for two years: “I got to know the project through my girlfriend, she does Physiotherapy at Bahiana and brought me here, and now I've brought a friend to help too. I like it a lot and I recommend it to everyone who wants to volunteer”, he concludes.

Claudenai Santos, a volunteer, says that she found out about ParaPraia through a friend: “I signed up and was called to work here in Arembepe”. She declared that she really liked being able to make bathing in the sea easier for people who cannot enjoy this leisure constantly due to lack of accessibility.

For Jorsan Santos, who was part of the event's production, the project is incredible, as it seeks to meet the demand for inclusive sport and leisure. The bather Wilson Faustino praises the proposal: “taking a bath in the sea with the help of ParaPraia is sensational. I recommend!".
