The Childhood Voiding Disorders Center (CEDIMI) of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública received, on November 14, the visit of the president of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The program began with the presentation of studies developed by undergraduate and graduate students who are part of the center.

The meeting promoted the exchange of knowledge between academics and the visiting professor, who was impressed with the quality of the papers presented: “This is a unique center in the world that develops research and care in voiding disorders in a multidisciplinary way, with medical students, Physiotherapy, doctors, physiotherapists and nurses”.

The meeting was headed by Cedimi's coordinator, Ubirajara Barroso, and was also attended by the internship coordinator of the Psychology course, Ana Aparecida Braga, and by CEDIMI's physiotherapist, Maria Luiza Veiga, in addition to students.

“Bringing people, like Dr. Andrew Kirsch, here at Cedimi breaks a barrier that is sometimes illusory, a distorted view that there is a difference between what we produce here and what is produced in the rest of the world. In fact, when we bring these people here and put them so closely, showing the work we do, I think it levels us with other international reference centers”, points out Dr. Ubirajara Barroso.
