Bahiana for a day | Nossa Senhora da Conceição College

Students from Colégio Nossa Senhora da Conceição visited, on August 29, the Campus Cabula da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, through the project Bahiana for one day. The program focused on the presentation of the structure of courses in Medicine, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Physical Education, Nursing, Psychology and Biomedicine.

The students were divided into two groups and made visits, each 20 minutes long, to the infrastructure of each undergraduate course: in Medicine, there was a presentation of the Morphofunctional Laboratory, with professor Suzana Araújo; Professor Cintia Pinheiro, from Physiotherapy, promoted an experience activity with a Swiss ball; and the Administrative Manager Lísia Oliveira showed the students how the Dental Center of the Bahiana.

During the afternoon of visitation, the students of Nossa Senhora da Conceição also got to know the area of ​​Biomedicine, from the perspective of acting in the Microscopy Laboratory. With the mediation of Professor João Franco, the routine of the Laboratory in Sports Science, the structure of the Physical Education course, was exhibited.

The professor and coordinator of the Psychology course, Sylvia Barreto, mediated a conversation on the topic “Myths and Truth about Psychology”. And Professor Ronesca Santana Dias, from the Nursing course, performed CPR activities at the institution's Skills Laboratory.

O Bahiana for a day is a project with the purpose of professionally instructing high school students, providing information about undergraduate health courses offered by Bahiana and contact with the higher education environment.
