Bahiana for a day | Anchieta College

The month of August, in the Bahiana, started with enthusiasm. On August 1st, 40 students from Colégio Anchieta visited the Campus Cabula da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, through the program Bahiana for one day. The program consisted of introducing students to the infrastructure of courses in Medicine, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Physical Education, Nursing, Psychology and Biomedicine.

Students were divided into two groups and carried out visits, lasting 20 minutes each, to the structures of the undergraduate courses. In Medicine, there was a presentation of the Morphofunctional Laboratory, by Professor Suzana Araújo; then, teacher Rachel Trinchão, from Physiotherapy, promoted an experimentation activity in electrotherapy and, finally, teacher Lísia Oliveira showed the students how the Dental Center at Bahiana.

During the visit itinerary, the Anchieta students also got to know the area of ​​Biomedicine, from the perspective of working in the Microscopy Laboratory, with professors Adalardo Carneiro and Clárcson Plácido, who exhibited the routine of the Laboratory in Sport Science and the structure of the Physical Education course.

The professor and coordinator of the Psychology course, Sylvia Barreto, mediated a conversation with the theme “Myths and Truth about Psychology”; and Professor Ronesca Santana Dias, from Nursing, performed CPR activities at the institution's Skills Laboratory.

O Bahiana for a day is a project that aims to professionally guide high school students, providing information about the undergraduate courses offered by Bahiana and contact with the Higher Education environment.
