Bahiana promotes meeting to discuss pelvic dysfunctions

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública held, on September 22, at Campus Cabula the “Talking to specialists: focus on pelvic dysfunctions”. 250 places will be made available, and the event will feature 10 hours of complementary activity. Applications can be made on the website of the Bahiana and cost R$ 50,00 (student) and R$ 100,00 (professional). The meeting is organized by the Pelvic Floor Care Center – CAAP, coordinated by Dr. Patrícia Lordêlo.

The program will address topics such as “pregnancy and postpartum: focus on the pelvic floor”; “updates in uropediatrics”; “radio frequency in pelvic dysfunctions” and “sexuality and intimate aesthetics”. Among the confirmed speakers are the event organizer, Dr. Patrícia Lordêlo, prof. ª Alcina Teles, to prof. ª Cristina Brasil, to prof. ª Daniele Sodré, to prof. ª Claúdia Liony and prof. ª Ana Paula Pitiá.

Pelvic disorders are prevalent and cause changes in the quality of life of affected people. Therefore, the search for diagnostic methods and treatments is a constant activity of CAAP. In this interactive event proposal, the CAAP will exchange experiences and disseminate the results of studies being carried out at the center, with the purpose of favoring the technical-scientific growth of professionals working in the area and, consequently, expanding the possibilities of affected patients for these problems, of having access to quality services.

“Talking to experts: focus on pelvic disorders” seeks to share knowledge and establish a critical and reflective connection between academic production and what should be applied in professional practice.
