Is the most comfortable way to sit right? How to carry a weight without damaging the spine? How to follow social networks on the smartphone without this habit damaging your health? These were some questions asked by the group of students from the Physiotherapy course at Bahiana, which is in the Supervised Internship of Primary and Outpatient Care II, to students in the 7th year of high school at Colégio Estadual Manoel Vitorino, in another meeting of the Health at School project, which always takes place on Monday mornings, on the premises from school.

Fruit of a partnership between the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and the secondary education institution, Saúde na Escola (School Health) started in 2017, with education and health promotion activities developed by medical students, coordinated by the project's creator, prof. ª Eliana de Paula. Throughout the past year, first aid workshops and health promotion actions took place, addressing issues such as teenage pregnancy, smoking and mental health, with students from elementary and high school, from the morning and afternoon shifts.

This year, the institutional partnership was expanded with the inclusion of the Physiotherapy course. The coordinator of the Supervised Internship Program in Primary and Outpatient Care II Rachel Trinchão explains that, in order to participate in the project, the group of interns was divided into two groups. While the first group works at school, the second group works at the Vida Plena Community Complex (CCVP), then they exchange. Throughout the semester, all interns also work at the Physiotherapy Clinic at Bahiana Cheers.

"Bahiana it has a very important role in social responsibility, and this action of bringing our students to this school, thinking about basic health education, ends up being fundamental for the public served to become healthier. And, from the moment we think about health promotion within the community, so much benefit is incalculable that we are bringing to the future of these people and to the health professionals we are training, as they will think more about preventing that in the rehabilitation work it will be even easier to be developed with these individuals who received guidance before", explains Trinchão.

For the Physiotherapy student, Sandra Corradini, "The experience is enriching. This exchange we have with students is fantastic, as they are interested in learning what we have to go through and we are also learning a lot from them". Sandra points out that this is the first experience with an infant-juvenile audience and that the preparation of classes took about a month. "Each class we prepare will be held for a month, with different classes, reaching the entire school".

According to the professor of the Physiotherapy course and responsible for the academic class at the Bahiana, João Amaro Coelho Neto, the class program began with the theme "Posture", the second stage will address "Stretching and Mobility" and the third stage, "Strengthening and Stability". "The goal is for us to bring primary care to the health of adolescents, ensuring that, before diseases appear, it is preventively treated. The intention is to prepare our students so that they can bring ideas about positioning, posture and way of life so that preventive maintenance can be carried out".

"This partnership has been wonderful, of excellence, because all the doubts our students have about posture, how they should behave in their daily lives, how to sit or stand, is clarified, even by the situation we Brazilians go through , because these health plans do not have enough space to provide this guidance. So, this project has been, really, very enriching for us", declared Rosimeire Silva Rodrigues, 7th grade teacher at Colégio Estadual Manoel Vitorino.

Emanuel Almeida dos Santos, 14, says that this is the first time he has received guidance on posture and that what most caught his attention was the way to sit. "With these classes, we improve our way of looking, standing up, crouching", he says he learned "reasonably", but he will try to learn more about the subject in order to pass on the knowledge at home.

Evelin de Jesus Brás, 12, complains of pain in her neck and, with the class, learned to improve her way of sitting. "When I get home, I'll talk to my mom, dad and family so they can move too."
