I BAIANO WORKSHOP ON BIOTECHNOLOGY APPLIED TO HEALTH

For the first time, Bahia will host a Workshop aimed at disseminating biotechnological advances applied to health. This event will feature the participation of researchers from different national and international educational and research institutions of recognized production in the field of Health. The event will promote exchange and scientific discussion between professionals and students on the current applicability of biotechnology in the health field. It also aims to encourage the formation of collaboration networks between researchers, in order to strengthen the area of ​​Biotechnology in the Region and, thus, stimulate the critical mass of professionals with competence in Biotechnology and related areas. Brazil is one of the greatest holders of biodiversity and, in particular, the Northeast, has 42% of its area constituted by the semi-arid region; a region with a unique climate and biodiversity around the world. These and other characteristics make the scenario very promising for the discovery/development of new biotechnological products/inputs.

Objectives
MAIN GOAL
Bring together scientists, professionals and students to discuss the current applicability of biotechnology in healthcare.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Integrate experiences from different areas of biotechnology;
- Promote scientific exchange and discussion and establish collaborative networks;
- Provide updating of professors and students on the main biotechnological advances applied to the health area.
