YOGA AND MEDITATION - OPEN REGISTRATION
OBJECTIVE
Awaken in the student the interest in the practice of yoga, using it as a tool to achieve a healthier life. The practice of Yoga is an invitation to a deep observation about ourselves. As a physical activity, it stretches and tones the muscles; massages and relaxes the joints; optimizes respiration and circulatory flow and develops a sense of balance. As a philosophical practice, it promotes the regular exercise of self-observation, encouraging self-correction of posture, mental and behavioral habits. The systematic practice of yoga and meditation has been shown to be efficient in helping people with physical and mental manifestations related to the stress of modern daily life. Yoga and meditation practitioners live healthier and more emotionally balanced lives, which makes them more focused, participative and productive at work, at home and in the community in which they live. Classes will be in person, with theoretical content on the philosophy of yoga, physical postures (asanas), breathing practices (pranayama), relaxation (yoganidra) and initiation to meditation.
