REGISTRATION REGISTRATION FOR INTERNSHIP IN DERMATOLOGY - 2010 OPEN

The Dermatology Service of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and Hospital Santa Izabel, was accredited in 1996 and re-accredited 2006-2011 by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD). Upon completion of the course, students will be able to submit to the competition to obtain the title of Specialist in Dermatology through the SBD, in agreement with the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB).

Standards and other information:

Objectives:
To train medical professionals in the specialty, providing mastery of knowledge and techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of dermatological diseases.
Note: The course is unpaid and there are no grants provided by any entity.
     
Target Audience: graduates in medicine who have at least 1 year of in-service residency accredited by the MEC in: clinical medicine, pediatrics and infectious diseases.

Workload – 1920 hours per year (40 hours per week). Duration of 03 years, changing always in line with the AMB/SBD

Syllabus (suggested by SBD):
Practical core - 80% - outpatient, procedures, phototherapy and surgery. (S. Izabel Hospital and Didactic-Assistance Ambulatory of Brotas da Bahiana)
Supporting theoretical core.
Internships in mycology and leprosy in other institutions.

Optional: 1 month in the 2nd year and 2 months in the 3rd year of internship in services accredited by SBD.

Vacation: 30 days in the 2nd and 3rd year of the internship.
The program may undergo some changes adapting to the requirements that may be determined by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology during the course.

Assessment and requirements for completion:
The assessment will be continuous (domains: affective, cognitive and skills) through different methodologies. In the end, a statistical survey of the production of the dermatology service of the Santa Izabel Hospital and of the Didactic-Assistance Ambulatory of Brotas from the previous year. By attendance (85%) and compliance with the rules and schedules of each course activity, which will be provided at the beginning of the internship.

01 - Skin Anatomy and Physiology
02 - Dermatological Semiology
03 – Basic notions of immunology of dermatological interest
04 - Erythematous-squamous and eczematous eruptions: psoriasis, Gibert's pityriasis rosea, erythroderma; contact, atopic and seborrheic eczema;
O5 - Urticaria, fixed pigmentary erythema, polymorphic erythema, Stevens-Johnson, Lyell syndrome
06 - Pruritic papular eruptions: simple pruritus, lichen planus, lichen sharp and striated;
07 - Vesico-bullous eruptions: dermatitis herpetiformis, pemphigus foliaceus and vulgaris; pemphigoids.
08 - Ulcerative affections: non-venous and vascular ulcers.
09 - Acne and acneiform eruptions. Alopecia.
10 - Collagen diseases: lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, dermatomyositis.
11 - Granulomatous disorders: sarcoidosis, annular granuloma and lipoid necrobiosis
12 - Pyoderma; staphylococcal and streptococcal
14 - Sexually transmitted diseases: syphilis, chancroid, inguinal lymphogranulomatosis, donovanosis.
15 - Leprosy
16 - Cutaneous amyloidosis
17 - Superficial and deep mycoses: paraccocidioiodomycosis, sporotrichosis, chromomycosis, and mycetomas
18 - Viruses: herpes simplex and zoster, molluscum contagiosum and warts in general. HIV and HTLV1.
19 - Zooparasitic diseases: scabies, pediculosis, myiasis, larva migrans, tungiasis and leishmaniasis.
20 - Precancerous dermatoses and malignant tumors: basal cell epithelioma, epidermoid and melanoma.

Number of questions: 25 (twenty five)
Note: If there are any doubts in the answers, those contained in the Textbook of Dermatology, A. ROOK – last edition will prevail.

Note: In the case of a tie, the one with the longest training time will be preferred. If the tie persists, the oldest.
