CEDETE LAUNCHES NEW VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THIS THURSDAY (29/10)

More user-friendly and interactive, the new Virtual Learning Environment from Bahiana will be released this Thursday (29/10) and brings a package of innovations, increasingly establishing the Bahiana as an educational institution with avantgarde teaching. The AVA is coordinated by the Center for the Development of Educational Technologies (CEDETE), whose manager is the professor of Medicine, Antônio Carlos Costa, with the collaboration of Prof. José Henrique de Morais, from the Psychology course. Among the news, it is worth mentioning the Community Bahiana. It is a virtual relationship network composed of administrative employees, professors and students from the BAHIANA, which allows the user to create a profile with the possibility of posting a photo, adding friends, seeing who is online – just as occurs with major social networks such as Orkut and Facebook. In addition, through the new environment, access to course activities and videoconferences is provided. With this tool, it is also possible for the browser to perform searches and obtain information about events.
In the new VLE forum, it is also possible to create transversal discussion forums, expanding to the whole community subjects discussed in the classroom and that are of common interest to the different courses and different semesters, integrating a large collaborative network of knowledge construction.
The new Environment, in addition to providing texts, links, images and audios, also has a virtual video library, in which the user has access to videoconferences, event videos, lectures and classes. In the case of content produced in the classroom, the student simply needs to be registered in his/her discipline within the moodle platform to have access to the materials.
In this package of news, there is also the launch of the Twitter Bahiana. Following CEDETE_BAHIANA, the user can stay on top of the latest news, find out about the schedule of events held both by the Center and by other departments of the School.
Partnerships
The new virtual space also allows for partnerships to be made available in video, text, slides, etc. Thus, knowledge sharing spaces such as the Citizenship Social Network and the Scientific Coffee, activities coordinated by the Mind, Assessment and Mental Health (MASM) research group of the Psychology course.
Another partnership is also being signed with the Academic Leagues, which can also request CEDETE coverage for filming and photographic records, as well as videoconferences. The materials produced may also be made available within the AVA.
