PRELIMINARY INFORMATION ON THE FORMATIVE SELECTION PROCESS 2010.1 

 

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING

Continuing the process of curricular changes of the political-pedagogical projects of its undergraduate courses, the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública reports:

 

1)      From 2010.1, aiming at the quality and excellence of teaching/learning, the political-pedagogical projects of the Medicine, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Nursing and Dentistry courses contemplate interdisciplinary aspects and intercourses, allowing internal transfer between these courses.

 

2)      Course students only Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Nursing and Dentistry da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, from the end of the 2nd year or 4th semester of the respective courses, they may compete for vacancies in the Medicine course which will be made available for this purpose in 2012.1On internal selection process, obeying the regulatory norms that will be previously ignored.

 

3)      From 2011.1there will no longer be the possibility of external transfer to the Medicine Course.

 

TRAINING SELECTION PROCESS FOR ENTRY INTO UNDERGRADUATE COURSES IN 2010.1 – BASIC ASSUMPTIONS

 

Admission to SCHOOL Courses BAHIANA OF MEDICINE AND PUBLIC HEALTH - EBMSP, will be done for the realization of the Formative Selection Process and by using the results of the evaluation of the National High School Exam - ENEM, optionally and complementary to the Selection Process.


The basic assumptions of this Selection Process are:

1.      Select candidates with a profile best suited to the nature and design of the Undergraduate Courses it offers, adopting a more prospective concept in the assessment instruments, without losing sight of the need to work with the attributes of a retrospective assessment regarding the knowledge, skills, competences and attitudes developed from the previous levels of education of the individuals submitted to the Training Selection Process.

2.      Increase the credibility and reliability of the Training Selection Process, with the aim of line up this Process to the pedagogical principles of the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, a traditional but contemporary institution, which privileges teaching excellence in the training of its students.

3.      Perform a selective training process with distinct moments and specific activities, valuing the candidates' Persian skills (cognitive, emotional, social, communicational, interrelational), in addition to validating the candidate's identification with the Health area.

 

Based on these assumptions, two models of Formative Selection Processes were built for the admission of candidates in the Undergraduate Courses of EBMSP, a model for the Medicine course and another model for the Graduate Psychology, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Nursing and Dentistry.

 

          

MEDICINE COURSE

 

The 2010.1 Formative Selection Process for admission of candidates to the Medicine Course presents an academic architecture built by two evaluation phases:

 

1st PHASE - NOVEMBER 22, 2009 - SUNDAY
OBJECTIVE PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, in the four areas of knowledge:
1. Languages ​​(Portuguese and English languages);
2. Human Sciences and Current Affairs (History and Geography);
3. Natural Sciences (Physics/Chemistry/Biology);
4. Mathematics.

 

A OBJECTIVE PROOF DE CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE will 30 (thirty) multiple choice questions, elaborated from a thematic axis, dealing with the contents of the subjects studied throughout the basic schooling in an integrated, transversal and transdisciplinary way, whose objective is to assess the skills and cognitive competences developed by the candidate, in addition to evaluating the ability to understand, analyze, establish correlations and make inferences with clarity, objectivity and coherence.

 

 

May be considered, in this test, Topics such as: biopersity, ecology, new social and geopolitical maps, art and philosophy, public policies, education, housing, health and safety, social networks and sustainability (public, private, third sector), interpersonal relationships (respect, care, consideration and coexistence), urban and rural life, inclusion x exclusion (including digital), citizenship, persity, violence, terrorism, technological advances and labor relations.

 

This selection phase has character qualifier and qualifier and the result obtained by the candidate qualifies him for the 2st PHASE, after applying the standardization and the cutoff point of 1 Standard Deviation below the arithmetic mean of the Global Scores of the candidates present in the exam, up to the limit of three candidates per place offered for this Course.

 

In evaluating the OBJECTIVE PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, the standardized score has average equal to 500 (five hundred) and standard deviation equal to 100 (one hundred). It is OBJECTIVE PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE will have weight 10,0 (ten).

 

ENEM

The candidate may choose to use the result of the evaluation of the National High School Exam – ENEM, in this 1st PHASE, passing to OBJECTIVE PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE to have weight 8,0 (eight) and the result of the ENEM, weight 2,0 (two). The results of the period between 2005 and 2008, provided that the candidate has achieved at least 40% hit on the Final Score in the ENEM (General Knowledge Test and Writing Test). The candidate must inform his registration number No. ENEM, when filling the REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT, which will act as authorization for its use.


2nd PHASE - NOVEMBER 29 AND 30, 2009 - SUNDAY AND MONDAY
This phase will consist of two distinct moments, complementary and mandatory, one of experiential character and another constant of a PROOF DE REDATION and a TEST WITH DISCOURSE QUESTIONS.

 

FIRST MOMENT - NOVEMBER 29 - SUNDAY
Activities will be carried out in learning environments proper to the development of medical practice, with the promotion of:

1.      Discussions and reflections about the situations experienced there and their relationship with professional practice;

2.      Socializing and Integrating Activities in which the candidate will be able to show interpersonal skills, aesthetic sense, ethical attitudes, critical-reflective capacity, ability to plan and execute tasks, in addition to exercising basic human values ​​that are essential to healthy human coexistence, such as respect, solidarity, cooperation, care, in a perspective of approximation with the professional world.

 

The activities of this FIRST MOMENTwill be carried out by two distinct teams:

1.      Course teacher team, which will observe the personal profile of the participants in relation to the profile of the professional desired by the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, based on the carrying out of activities and practices in the existing workstations, laboratories and learning spaces.

2.      Team of professionals specialized in group dynamics and operative groups which will observe, in addition to personal characteristics, individual profiles, forms of relationship, proactivity, leadership capacity and the ability to identify and solve problems, among other situations.

 

This FIRST MOMENT of the Formative Selection Process proposes to create opportunities for the candidate to identify the potential skills required for their professional qualification, constituting a qualitative evaluation, of a formative nature, not being assigned a grade or concept.
     
SECOND MOMENT - NOVEMBER 30 - MONDAY
Classifies the candidate for vacancies in the Medicine Course and will consist of a WRITING TEST (elimination) and by a DISCOURSE TEST WITH 15 (FIFTEEN) QUESTIONS (classificatory), based on the knowledge of Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and Mathematics/Logical Reasoning, with approaches to everyday life and a focus on health-related aspects, contemplating a defined thematic axis.

 

A WRITING TEST will understand a production of essay-argumentative text, from a given argument, with fundamental, coherent and clear ideas, logical and critical positions, and the candidate must evidence the mastery of the lexicon and structure of the Portuguese language. The proposal of the Writing Test will encourage the candidate to seek references in their life history, in the perception of the world and their role as a future professional in the health area, and also in the experiences lived in the FIRST MOMENT OF THE 2nd PHASE of the Formative Selection Process.  
 
FINAL CLASSIFICATION

A final classification of each candidate will be done in descending order of the global score. The candidate's overall score will result from the sum of standardized and weighted grades obtained by the candidate in the DISCOURSE TEST AND WRITING TEST, whose weights will be, respectively, 6,0 (six) and 4,0 (four).


Observation: The result of the 1st Phase will not be computed in the candidate's global score, being used only for qualification for the 2nd Phase.

 

DISPOSAL CRITERIA
Will removed of the Formative Selection Process the candidate who:

1.      do not attend to any stage of the Selective Formative Process; or

2.      get null result in any of the tests you take; or

3.      reach lower income 40% on the Writing Test; or

4.      not hit the minimum income corresponding to 1 Standard Deviation below the arithmetic mean of the global scores of the candidates present in the OBJECTIVE PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE.



 

 

COURSES IN PSYCHOLOGY, PHYSIOTHERAPY, BIOMEDICINE, NURSING AND DENTISTRY

 

 

Admission to Courses of Psychology, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Nursing and Dentistry will be done for the realization of the Formative Selection Process and by using the results of the evaluation of the National High School Exam - ENEM, optionally and complementary to the Selection Process.

 

The 2010.1 Training Selection Process will consist of two distinct moments, complementary and mandatory:

 

FIRST MOMENT - NOVEMBER 23, 2009 - MONDAY
Activities will be carried out in learning environments proper to the development of professional practices, with the promotion of:

1.      Discussions and reflections about the situations experienced there and their relationship with professional practice;

2.      Socializing and Integrating Activities in which the candidate will be able to show interpersonal skills, aesthetic sense, ethical attitudes, critical-reflective capacity, ability to plan and execute tasks, in addition to exercising basic human values ​​that are essential to healthy human coexistence, such as respect, solidarity, cooperation, care, in a perspective of approximation with the professional world.

 

The activities of this FIRST MOMENT will be carried out by two distinct teams:

The candidate's experience and reflections will contribute to his performance in the SECOND MOMENT of the Formative Selection Process.

 

SECOND MOMENT - NOVEMBER 24, 2009 - TUESDAY
It will consist of a PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE with 30 (thirty) objective questions multiple choice and 05 (five) discursive questions and a WRITING TEST, of an eliminatory and qualifying nature.

 

As 35 (thirty-five) questions da PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE will be from transdisciplinary nature, elaborated from a thematic axis, whose objective is to evaluate the cognitive abilities and competences developed by the candidate during the Basic Education, besides evaluating the capacity to understand, analyze, establish correlations and make inferences with clarity, objectivity and coherence. Topics such as: biopersity, ecology, new social and geopolitical maps, art and philosophy, public policies, education, housing, health and safety, social networks and sustainability (public, private, third sector), interpersonal relationships ( respect, care, consideration and coexistence), urban and rural life, inclusion x exclusion (including digital), citizenship, persity, violence, terrorism, technological advances and labor relations.

 

A PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE will have questions in English language.

 

A WRITING TEST will understand a production of essay-argumentative text, from a given argument, with fundamental, coherent and clear ideas, logical and critical positions, and the candidate must evidence the mastery of the lexicon and structure of the Portuguese language. The proposal of WRITING TEST will encourage the candidate to seek references in their life history, in the perception of the world and their role as a future professional in the health area, and also in the experiences lived in the FIRST MOMENT of the Formative Selection Process. 

 

FINAL CLASSIFICATION
A final classification of the candidates will be done in descending order of global score. The candidate's overall score will result from the sum of standardized and weighted grades and the CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE TESTS and WRITING TEST, which will have, respectively, weight 06 (six) and 04 (four).

 

ENEM
The use of the evaluation result of the National High School Exam - ENEM will be optional, and the results of the period between 2005 and 2008, provided you have reached at least 40% hit on the Final Score in the ENEM (General Knowledge Test and Writing Test). The candidate must inform his registration number No. ENEM, when filling the REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT, which will act as authorization for its use.
The candidate chooser will have its global score plus the score related to the ENEM, which will have weight 02 (two), passing to PROOF OF CONTEMPORARY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE to have weight 05 (five) and WRITING TEST, weight 03 (three).

 

DISPOSAL CRITERIA
Will removed of the Formative Selection Process the candidate to the Courses of Psychology, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Nursing and Dentistry that:

1.      do not attend to any stage of the Selective Formative Process; or

2.      get null result in any of the tests you take; or

3.      reach lower income 40% on the Writing Test; or

4.    not hit the minimum yield corresponding to 1 and 1/2 standard deviation below the arithmetic mean of the global scores of the candidates present.
