20 November - Black Consciousness Day

Established in 2003, Black Consciousness Day is celebrated on November 20th. The date marks the death of Zumbi, the last leader of Quilombo dos Palmares.

Today, we remember the history of our people, we celebrate the resistance and struggle for social justice, respect, opportunities and better living conditions. The health of a community takes place in the dignity of each of its individuals.
