BAHIANA AGAINST DENGUE

In response to a call from the Municipal Health Department, the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública created an Extraordinary Committee to Combat Dengue and will hold, next Saturday (28), from 8:15 am at the Institution's Convention Center, located in the Academic Unit do Cabula - Av. Silveira Martins, 3386 - the Seminar Bahiana Against Dengue. 

The program includes the participation of representatives of the Municipal Health Department who will present the Strategy for the Care of patients with Dengue in Salvador and measures taken by the municipal administration to contain the disease epidemic. The themes “Dengue Epidemiology”, “Vector Characteristics” and “Clinical Management of Dengue Patients” will also be presented and discussed.

The actions of Bahiana will be extended to students from all courses at the School, as well as to all professors and collaborators. The objective is to make each member of the academic community a multiplier of information, helping to intensify preventive actions.

Effective action in combat
In addition, for medical students who are in the INTERNSHIP, a selection will be made for a training course that aims to prepare them for a specific internship in the care units for patients with Dengue. Applications must be made urgently at the Secretariat of Nazaré (counter) from March 19th to 25th. The test will be held on March 30 (Monday) at 03 pm at Academic Unit Nazareth. Those selected must undergo a training activity.
