The Brazilian Institute of Ophthalmology and Blindness Prevention (IBOPC), through the Humberto de Castro Lima Hospital, in partnership with the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and with Uneb's Solidarity Economic Enterprises Incubator, it has been promoting eye health through access to ophthalmological consultations for underprivileged communities in Salvador.

The initiative integrates the See Better Project which aims to early diagnose and prevent eye diseases in low-income populations. For this, an office van goes to the benefited communities and provides assistance. In case there is a need to perform more complex exams, patients are referred to Hospital Humberto de Castro Lima to complete the service.

At this first moment, communities in the neighborhoods of Cajazeiras, Uruguay, Vista Alegre and Cabula are being benefited. The services are completely free and always take place on Saturdays from 08 am to 12 pm.
