Once again the Bahiana innovated and held a different entrance exam for courses in Biomedicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Psychology and Occupational Therapy. This is the Formative Selection Process, in which candidates undergo two types of assessment. On the first day, practical activities are carried out individually and in groups, simulating everyday situations in the professions. This moment is intended to provoke a self-evaluation in the candidate, making him verify his vocation and disposition for the chosen profession. No grade or concept is charged. On the second day, there is a multiple-choice test in which general knowledge is assessed in an integrated manner.

For the deputy director, Dr. Ênio Ribeiro Maynard Barreto, changes and innovations are a constant in Bahiana. "Students will see that the School is changing and innovating day-to-day. As an example, we have the new selection process. But a lot more is coming. We hope that everyone is very successful and we will work hard for this".

Very relaxed, Os New from Bahiana they were able to enjoy the dance performance FLOS – 'The most beautiful thing in flowers', with ballerina Juliana Rocha. The occasion also allowed the new students a first contact with academic leagues, then represented by the League of Applied Infectology of Bahia – LAIA.

But the most awaited moment was saved for the end with the activity "Cultivating flowers and dreams" when the students painted coconut trees and carried out the planting of flower seedlings that will be taken to the Fields of each student. There, throughout their academic life, students will be able to monitor the growth and development of their plant.

 Expectations

"Before, I wanted to study Medicine. But this year I listened to my parents, talked to some relatives and chose to study Nursing. Another thing that makes me sure I'm on the right path was the experiential moment of the entrance exam. That moved a lot, it had everything to do with me". The experience belongs to the 18-year-old student, Geisa Silva Souza, Nova Bahiana from the Nursing course who was already friends with Juliana Bastos, also a freshman in Dentistry.

For Juliana, the choice for Bahiana it was due to the tradition of good structure and teaching staff. "I chose the Bahiana because it has a good structure, good laboratories and good teachers. Also because I talked to people who are already taking the course and they all told me well, that they like it a lot."

In her presentation, the coordinator of People Development, Luiza Ribeiro highlighted the application of the new format for the entrance exam. "THE Bahiana is very grateful to the new students for having bet, together with us, in the new selection process that we adopted this year."
