The Cabula Academic Unit hosted the III Journey of Medical Anatomy of Bahia (JAMEB) which took place from September 28th to 30th and was attended by hundreds of medical students from various institutions in Bahia, as well as professors and professionals in the area. The first day of activities involved several pre-day courses held by study groups and centers and academic leagues. In the evening, the opening ceremony was held, kicking off JAMEB. The coordinator of People Development, Luiza Ribeiro, participated in the table, representing the dean of the institution, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the dean of Research and Innovation, Atson Fernandes, the coordinator of the Medicine course, Ana Verônica Mascarenhas and the professor of the Medicine course, coordinator of NEPA and president of the III JAMEB, Dr. Rinaldo Antunes Barros.

"This year's journey had a very followed line, the line that the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública has been doing the Choosing Wisely initiative, that is, thinking consciously and rationally. So, the themes of all the speakers were focused on: when to indicate, when to actually address it", explains Dr. Rinaldo, highlighting, in the program, a lecture on the rational use of hyperbaric therapy. According to him, the idea is to bring all the concepts together anatomical, according to medical specialties, to be used judiciously "and really indicate things that bring a real benefit to our patients. We have a great gain in technology, now, it is up to us to have a rational use of it".

The journey usually attracts new members to NEPA, such as Mariana Nery Andrade, from the second semester of Medicine. "I'm really loving the Bahiana, the humanization promoted, the involvement of teachers, especially Prof. Rinaldo, he is a very present collaborator". Mariana says that she signed up at JAMEB because she likes to participate in extracurricular activities. In the program, she highlights the Procedural Anatomy course, promoted by NEPA, "For me, the journey was already worth it!"

Organized by Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, through the Center for Teaching and Research in Anatomy (NEPA), JAMEB had its first edition in September 2015 in Salvador and aims to offer a unique experience to participants through two days of complete immersion in anatomy and its applications. This year, more than 40 topics were covered in lectures given by experienced physicians and trained monitors in anatomy.

Matheus Mendes, 6th semester student of Medicine, student coordinator of the III JAMEB communication committee and member of NEPA, participated in all editions of the journey, the first as a listener and the last two as part of the organizing committee. For him, being a member of NEPA and participating in the organization of JAMEB is an experience that requires a lot of dedication, as it is an event organized by students, but it is very pleasurable. "We always talk about this NEPA family feeling, so I think that, even when we leave the monitors cycle, we always have affection, are always willing to help and participate in the projects. This year, at JAMEB, for participating in the communication center, I was able to have contact with all the speakers, I helped to organize the lectures, it was really a very good experience".

He says that participating in NEPA is very important in his education as a health professional. "We learned to have posture, to talk to people with thoughts different from ours, we learned to be more systematized, organized, disciplined, to have ethical values of respect for the corpse, respect for the student, respect for the patient, which are essential for a good professional qualification".
