Literature, music, visual arts and gastronomy. The artistic languages converged once again in the academic units Brotas and Cabula, on the 22nd, 24th and 29th of August, in another edition of August of the Arts.

The project is carried out by the Psychopedagogical Care Center (NAPP) and every year it brings together professors, students, employees and partners from Bahiana with the aim of promoting art within the academic environment through workshops and the diversity of artistic languages. "The importance of this event is linked precisely to the promotion of health and the integration of the various courses, where there is an integration between them, in addition to working with the art that has everything to do with health and quality of life", Ana Paula Barros educator and psychopedagogue of the NAPP.

For the professor of the Psychology course, Marilda Castelar, Agosto das Artes also encourages the development of activities that can be applied in the life of health professionals. "I see it as a way for them to bring new skills that can be added later in a workshop and other activities within Psychology itself or in other courses. For example, you go to a CAPS and there are different types of workshops, so, how much more possibilities of manifesting, it is enriching for the profession itself".

During the three days of the event, spaces were set up with structure for the presentation of dance and music performances, stands for the exhibition of artistic works and handicraft products. Letícia Rogério, a 6th semester student in Psychology, has been participating in the event for two years, selling gourmet brigadeiros and values the opportunity to show her skills. "They give students the opportunity to show their skills, in addition to being an integrative activity, because students from all semesters and courses who are interested in learning about the works participate".

Student of the 6th semester of Medicine Vanessa de Oliveira participated in the two days of activities at the Academic Unit Brotas, singing and singing. "For me, art and mental health are very linked, I think knowing how to express yourself is one of the greatest weapons we have for the preservation of mental health", says Vanessa, stating that she will be a different psychiatrist.

"Medicine is a course that requires a lot of student study time, a more intense dedication, because of their very heavy curriculum and I think this ends up making them very anxious, so I think a initiative like this is very important in the sense of making them understand that the academy is not just about studying, but it is a place for them to express what they cannot express in the classroom, in the academic environment. I think communication is very linked to art, a good professional has to know how to communicate and they do not acquire this ability in their studies, but in this freer expression", Natália Fiorenza, professor of the Medicine course.
