NOTICE OF SCIENTIFIC INITIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Public Selection of Proposals for Granting Scientific Initiation Scholarships for Scientific Research Projects - 20081.

1.0. General Information
1.1. objective

It is aimed at undergraduate students, regularly enrolled in the Medicine course at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública for the development of research initiation activities, supervised by an experienced researcher, who fulfills the requirements defined in this Notice.

1.2. Schedule

· Release of the Notice 30/5/2008

· Analysis and Judgment until 21/7/2008

· Earnings Release 25/7/2008

· Delivery of selected documents by 30/7/2008

· Implementation of Scholarships 01/08/2008

1.3. Number of scholarships

· Twenty (20) scientific initiation grants

1.4. Candidate

· Have good academic performance, as evidenced by the academic record;

· Have completed the 2st semester of the Undergraduate Course;

· Not having an employment relationship, of any nature, during the duration of the scholarship;

· Present the research projects in the form of a poster at the Scientific Journey promoted by BAHIANA in 2008 and the results by oral presentation at the Scientific Initiation Journey promoted by BAHIANA in 2009

· Have an updated curriculum on the Platform Lattes.

· Candidates registered for the selection of scientific initiation scholarships in the BAHIANA/FAPESB will be able to register without the need to present documents, and they must only express their interest in writing.

· Candidates enrolled in the IC selection BAHIANA/FAPESB but who wish to change the project must be registered as new.

· Students with an expected completion of the course within the scholarship period (July 31, 2009) will not be able to enroll.

1.5. from the advisor

Researcher must meet the following requirements to be a supervisor of Scientific Initiation students:

· Be a researcher with outstanding scientific productivity, at least with specialization.

· Have an employment relationship with the BAHIANA

· Join the Research Group of BAHIANA or partner institution, registered in the Directory of Research Groups of CNPq;

· Guide the fellow in the different phases of scientific work, including the preparation of the report and material for presenting the results at scientific events

· Have an updated curriculum on the Platform Lattes

1.6. Duration and Deadlines

The duration of the scholarship is 12 (twelve) months, as long as it does not exceed the regular graduation time in that course. There will be no renewal of the scholarship, but there is no impediment for the student to apply for the new scholarship.

During the period of validity of the scholarship, the scholarship holders can be replaced only once, upon request of the advisor and express authorization of the Scientific Initiation Coordination, respecting the foreseen duration up to the 9th month of the duration of the scholarship. After the beginning of the term of the scholarships, the replacements will take place in the same project approved by the Notice. In case of withdrawal prior to the implementation of the scholarship, the call will be made according to the classification.

2.0. Submission of Proposals - Documents

· Completion of the scholarship application form from BAHIANA, especially the item related to the work project to be developed by the scholarship holder) APPENDIX 01. Do not include institutional and authorship information in the project, in order to ensure anonymity during the evaluation.

· Candidate's history, referring to graduation (signed by the institution)

· Updated Curriculum Lattes of the advisor

· Candidate's updated Lattes curriculum

NOTES:

· The grantee's participation in the project's development must be clearly defined in the proposal.

· Each researcher may submit several proposals for granting the scholarship, however only one (01) proposal may be approved by each applicant researcher. The documents referring to item 2.0 must be presented as follows:

Ø 01 (one) copy of the project on CD and 01 printed.

Ø Other printed documents. · We reiterate the importance of not including institutional and authorship information in the project text. These will be necessary when the project is submitted to the Human or Animal Research Ethics Committee before its execution.

3.0. Analysis and Judgment

· The judgment of the proposals will be carried out by at least two professors from the School, designated by the Scientific Initiation Scholarship Coordination of the BAHIANA and will receive a score under the APPENDIX 02

Tiebreaker:

1. By school record score;

2. Not having benefited from a previous scholarship;

3. Have exercised monitoring in a subject that makes up the curriculum of the courses of the BAHIANA;

4. If the tie persists, the Selection Committee will have autonomy to propose other criteria.

4.0. Results of the Judgment and Implementation of Scholarships

· The results will be published on the institutional homepage of the BAHIANA (http: // www.bahiana.edu.br/) simultaneously, and the candidates are responsible for informing themselves.

· After the result, a copy of the proposal will be available to unselected candidates, in the BAHIANA, in Nazareth. After the 30-day period, the proposals will be discarded.

5.0. Monitoring and Final Evaluation

a) The scholarship holder will present the preliminary project of the work in the form of a poster at the Cultural and Scientific Exhibition of BAHIANA 2008 and the results of his research work at the Scientific Initiation Journey promoted by BAHIANA in oral exposition, in 2009.

b) The scholarship holder must submit, regardless of request, with the advisor's signature, a partial (6 months) and final report, in a form specific to the Scientific Initiation Scholarship Coordination of the BAHIANA, at the Nazaré Academic Unit. Failure to comply with this clause will result in the suspension of the scholarship or its cancellation.

c) The BAHIANA the right is reserved at any time to request additional information or documents deemed necessary for the evaluation and monitoring of proposals.6.0. Revocation or Annulment of the Notice

At any time, this notice may be revoked or annulled, in whole or in part, including the resources allocated to it by unilateral decision of the BAHIANA, for reasons of public interest or legal requirement, without this implying rights to indemnity or claim of any nature. 7.0. Proposals must be filed at the Secretariat of BAHIANA, Nazaré Academic Unit, under the care of Mrs. Graça Cerqueira until 12:30.6.2008 on June XNUMX, XNUMX

Proposals that, even if filed, do not comply with the items in this notice will not be judged.
