Bahiana for a day | Gregor Mendel College

Teachers, course coordinators and students from academic leagues received, on May 24, at the Cabula Academic Unit, a group of students from the 3rd year of high school at Colégio Gregor Mendel, for another edition of the program Bahiana for one day.

The initiative aims to provide visitors with a moment of experience of the academic routine, through a guided tour that also allows contact with an exhibition of all courses in the Bahiana.

This time, the program began with a visit to the Morphofunctional Laboratory, where the Medicine monitors presented some of the course's curricular components. Next, Gregor Mendel's students were accompanied by the administrative supervisor of the Dental Center at Bahiana which presented the various dependencies of this unit.

Experimentation in electrotherapy, evaluation of posture and balance and palpatory anatomy were the activities carried out by the Academic Leagues for the Study of Pain (LABED) and Physiotherapy, Orthopedics and Sports (LAFORTE), under the supervision of Professor Rachel Trinchão.

A chat about Psychology myths and truths was the activity developed by the course coordinator, Prof. Sylvia Barreto, followed by a demonstration of cardiorespiratory resuscitation and first aid principles, supervised by Prof. Cristiane Magali, coordinator of the course Nursing.

The group was also able to learn more about Blood Grouping – ABO System, during a visit to the Chemical, Physical and Biological Sciences Laboratory accompanied by Prof. Sidney Santana and, to complete the academic life circuit at Bahiana, the students got to know the Movement Study Laboratory, where they performed various activities coordinated by Prof. Ciro Queiroz.
