PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN VIDEOCONFERENCING

Psychology students at Bahiana participated, on the afternoon of Friday, August 15, in a videoconference, broadcast in real time directly from USP, with the Technical Coordinator of the Virtual Health Library in Psychology BVS-PSI, Maria Imaculada Cardoso Sampaio. The activity that integrates the actions of the VHL marked the celebrations of the psychologist's month, which is celebrated on the 27th of August. 
With the theme “The Brazilian Psychologist's Virtual Space”, the speaker presented instructions for a good use of the research tools of the VHL – PSI. “This activity is extremely important, as it will teach everyone how to use the virtual library. Any teacher today who wants to be connected to the area has to know how to use it”, declared the coordinator of the Psychology course, Rosália Correia Dias. She highlighted that within the VHL the Psychology library is the most advanced. “We are privileged to have a virtual library that is even the most advanced in terms of collections and mechanisms”.

Available at the email address www.bvs-psi.org.br, the Virtual Health Library – Psychology aims to ensure quick, accurate and free access to information, ensuring quality products and services to psychologists and researchers.
Among the benefits offered by the portal is the availability of periodicals, electronic journals, e-books, Course Completion Papers, monographs, dissertations and theses. In addition, the user has access to the national calendar of Psychology events, such as seminars, conferences, symposia and lectures. The content brings Brazilian authors and authors from Latin America and the Caribbean. According to Maria Imaculada, one of the great achievements achieved thanks to the Virtual Library is “to make available to all the public, free of charge, through the Internet, rare and, therefore, previously inaccessible works”.
