“The great dream of my life is to study Medicine and through the project I had the opportunity to visit the facilities of all courses and laboratories at Bahiana. It's exciting and I only certify that the choice of Medicine is concrete in my life”, reports Maria Clara Mota, 3, a student of the 17rd year of Colégio Vitória Régia, who was present on August 2, in another edition of Bahiana for a Day at the Cabula Academic Unit.

During the visit, the students of the 3rd year of Colégio Vitória Régia toured the School, visiting the Morphofunctional Laboratory of Medicine, the Dental Center of Bahiana Health, in addition to experimenting in electrotherapy, evaluating posture and palpatory anatomy with Professor Bruno Goés, together with the Academic League for the Study of Pain (LABED).

Some myths and truths about Psychology were also clarified by Psychology professor Marcia Tirone, as well as CPR demonstrations in the Skills Laboratory, presentation of the Clinical Analysis Laboratory by the professor of the Biomedicine course, Arthur Dias focusing on parasitic diseases, as well as a description of the routine of the Sports Science Laboratory by the coordinator of the Physical Education course, Clarcson Plácido.

The Institutional Relationship Analyst at Bahiana, Julia Macedo, explains that the Project Bahiana por a day aims to receive students who are in the process of professional training to learn a little more about the courses offered by the School. “We want them to know health as a whole and not just a specific course. Throughout the program, students have the possibility of going through activities involving all courses with students and teachers of the School, in which they experience a little of the daily life of the Bahiana".

Christine Keller, high school guidance counselor at Colégio Vitória Régia, points out that the project is very important, as students have the opportunity to experience the routine of the academic scene. “I think it's super valid as a vocational advisor to be able to follow this work, because, in fact, it's a simulation closer to the reality that these students will face in the future. So, they have access to the laboratories, to the practical part, that is, what they will actually use during graduation”.

For Ana Marta, monitor of the Morphofunctional Sciences Group and student of the 2nd semester of the Medicine course at Bahiana, the project manages to guide students in relation to the choice of the course and what they intend for academic life. “I think the student doesn't have much sense of what to do after high school, so this project presents a vision of what this student will find in college. Today I taught a small class on bones and muscles, very summarized, since it is a subject that is not taught at school and, if the student liked it, he can already think about studying Medicine or even discovering that it is not the course he wants do".

"I always wanted to study medicine and get to know the Bahiana it is a wonderful experience, as it is a complete school that offers quality both in teaching and in its facilities and laboratories”, concludes Flavia de Matos, a 3rd year student at Colégio Vitória Régia.
