NEPA brings together the academic community of Bahiana in the 1st edition of Anatópolis

The event included painting, music, literature, poetry, theater, philosophy and sculpture stations.

The academic community of Bahiana it met, last May 20th, at Anatópolis – An Anatomical Universe of Culture and Arts, at the Cabula Academic Unit.

Coordinated by Professor Rinaldo Antunes Barros and having as supervisors the students of the 6th semester of the Medicine course at Bahiana Mário Carvalho Júnior, Juliana Reis and Matheus Mendes, the event was an initiative of the Center for Teaching and Research in Anatomy (NEPA) and the Center for Teaching and Research in Radiological Anatomy (NEPAR).

     
Throughout the program, stations developed by NEPA members were held, comprising paintings with anatomical illustrations, literature with poetry contemplation, theater and philosophy with staging of debates between ancient and contemporary philosophers, as well as sculpture stations.

NEPA coordinator, professor Rinaldo Antunes Barros, explains that the main objective of the event was to contemplate the human anatomy under a holistic view. "The activities carried out allowed to demonstrate that this machine of the human body, among its anatomical details, is inserted in a society in which it needs to express itself in the most diverse ways, which are beautiful and deserve to be contemplated under the anatomical view of students of areas of health”.
