Bahiana For a Day welcomes students from Colégio Gregor Mendel
Initiative provides high school students with academic experiences and information about courses offered by Bahiana.

On May 10, 3rd year high school students at Colégio Gregor Mendel participated in the program Bahiana For a Day, at the Cabula Academic Unit of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública.
Welcomed by the institution's students and professors, the group of visitors participated in activities carried out by coordinators, professors and students of the courses at the Bahiana, which allowed them to be in contact with academic life, in addition to getting to know the institution's professors and students.
Professor João Franco presented the Physical Education course and the routine of the Sports Science Laboratory; the coordinator of the Psychology course, Sylvia Barreto, discussed myths and truths in the area.
Representing the Medicine course, monitors from the Morphofunctional Sciences Group presented the morphofunctional laboratory and the administrative supervisor of the Dental Center, Lisia Oliveira, showed how the dentistry outpatient clinic works.
On the occasion, there were also practical simulations on how to identify breast cancer and the importance of self-examination, with Professor Rosicleide Araújo, from the Nursing course. The professor of the Biomedicine course, Luís Sergio Santos Nunes, carried out practical activities for the determination of acetic acid in vinegar at the Chemical, Physical and Biological Sciences Laboratory. Finally, professor Claudia Furtado, from the Physiotherapy course, carried out activities with the Academic League of Hospital Physiotherapy and the Academic League of Pain.

The program Bahiana For a Day seeks to support the work of professional guidance in secondary schools, providing students with information about the courses offered by Bahiana and contact with the institution's academic environment.
