Athlete's Health: Physiotherapy course opens enrollment for optional component

Enrollment is now open for the optional component Saúde do Athlete, aimed at undergraduate students of the Physiotherapy course. The component is offered annually and aims to provide the student with experience in the assessment and physical therapy treatment of athletes. 

20 places will be offered, with activities starting on July 27th. The meetings will be weekly, on Thursday afternoons, under the guidance of Professor João Amaro. The practical activities will be developed in sports clubs and associated clinics. 


1. Skills to be acquired 
- Know the pathophysiological aspects of injuries acquired in sport;
- Perform physical therapy assessment and diagnosis of the athlete;
- Prescribe goals of physical therapy treatment for the athlete.


2. Component offered/Number of vacancies:
- Athlete's Health - workload: 54 hours
- 20 vacancies


3. Registration: 
- Students must register until 24/07/17 at the Academic Office of the UA de Brotas, from 8 am to 16 pm. Registration will close when the number of places is filled.

Start of classes: 27/07/2017


4. Registration Criteria 
Students enrolled in 2017.2, from the 5th to 9th semesters of the Physiotherapy course.
