Bahiana will discuss new standards applied to occupational diseases

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública will promote on the 25th, at 18:30 pm, a Round Table on "Nexo Técnico Epidemiológico - Ntep", which will be a new approach to the changes that have been effected by the federal government in Social Security within the scope of the formulation of accident diseases from work. Among the main changes introduced is the one that allows Social Security to transform a worker's chronic illness into a work-related illness, and so companies will have to assume the burden of proof or prove that the worker's illness has nothing to do with activities he performs or will have to keep that worker on his staff. 

The coordinator of the Round Table will be dr. Wasni Esqueisaro Júnior, head of Occupational Medicine at Daimlerchrysler do Brasil, and doctors Celso Moraes Macedo and Tânia Mariza M. Silva, both from the INSS. The event will take place in the auditorium of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública – EBMSP, located at Rua Frei Henrique, number 8, in the neighborhood of Nazaré.
