Reborn stowage: Bahiana participates in collective health action within the state

From the 17th to the 21st of April, the village Afrânio Peixoto (Estiva), a district in the municipality of Lençóis, will be the stage for social action in the areas of health, sport and the environment.
The project, called Estiva Renascente, is a partnership between the Cravada and Estiva farms, the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and the Lençóis City Hall. Planned actions include dental care, an epidemiological inquiry, requalification of the soccer field, distribution of sporting goods and planting of local flora trees.

dentistry students from Bahiana will provide basic care to the local population, with an epidemiological survey and educational actions to prevent diseases. The activities have the support of the Lençóis Health Department and will be carried out under the coordination of Professor Ricardo Araújo.

Elementary level students in Estiva will be responsible for planting 30 seedlings of species typical of the local flora. The trees will be planted in the historic center of the small village located in Serra do Sincorá, which is in the process of being listed by the Institute of Artistic and Cultural Heritage (IPAC), in addition to being part of the Marimbus-Iraquara environmental protection area. 

The inauguration of the requalified soccer field is also part of the project, the area of ​​which will be officially donated to the community by the owners of the Cravada and Estiva farms. On the occasion, the local population will receive sporting goods from the Sports Superintendence of the State Government of Bahia (Sudesb).
