Meeting reaffirms partnership between the Bahiana and the Cardio Pulmonary Hospital
Partnership seeks technical and academic cooperation between institutions.

In order to strengthen ties for the purposes of technical cooperation and academic training in the postgraduate sphere, professors from Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and professionals from the Hospital Cárdio Pulmonar (HCP) met on the morning of March 31, at the administrative headquarters of the health unit. The meeting was another initiative of the Pro-Rectory of Research and Innovation of the Bahiana which has in front of him Prof. Atson Fernandes.
The event opened with a speech by the manager of Medical Practice and coordinator of Cardiovascular Medicine at the HCP, Dr. Eduardo Darzé. "This partnership comes to establish an academic vocation of the Hospital Cárdio Pulmonar, which is very rich for both institutions," he stated. On the occasion, he made an institutional presentation, highlighting the hospital's management standards and policies to promote quality management.
"This partnership already exists, but now we are bringing this collaboration even closer to the Hospital Cárdio Pulmonar (HCP), which has already hosted several research projects from the Bahiana at the master's and doctoral level", highlighted the dean of research and innovation at the Bahiana. Atson Fernandes also presented a brief history of academic research in the world and Brazil's position in this context, emphasizing the importance of contributing to innovative initiatives.
Also participating in the meeting were the Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Education, Maria de Lourdes de Freitas Gomes, the professor of the Graduate Program at Bahiana Dr. Armênio Costa Guimarães, the coordinator of the Research and Innovation Center, Dr. Alene Vanessa Azevedo dos Santos and the coordinator of the Scientific and Technological Initiation Center, Thais Calasans.
The program also included a presentation of the scientific production carried out by professionals from the clinical and administrative staff of the HCP, carried out by the coordinator of Research and Medical Training at the institution, Dr. Luiz Ritt, who recently joined the faculty of the Bahiana.
The research groups of the Bahiana related to cardiovascular health: the Cardiovascular Diseases group by Prof. Dr. Ana Marice Ladeia, which is led by her and by Prof. Dr. Armênio Costa Guimarães; the Research Group on Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy by Prof. Dr. Cristiane Dias; the Renal Failure and Cardiovascular Disease Research Group by Prof. Dr. Constança Sampaio Cruz; the Study and Research Group in Health and Human Performance by Prof. Ciro Oliveira Queiroz and the Biotechnology and Bioprospecting Nucleus (NBBio) by Dr. Alene Vanessa Azevedo dos Santos.
The master's and doctoral programs in Health Technologies and Medicine and Human Health were also presented by the respective coordinators, Prof. Dr. Marcus Almeida and Prof. Dr. Ana Marice Ladeia.
