BAHIANA PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SENAMA

Following the theme “Doing Health Science in the Community with Education”, the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública participated, between days from October 19th to 23rd, of the National Science and Technology Week with several activities carried out in the Sanitary Districts of Brotas and Cabula/Beiru. The opening ceremony took place at the UNEB Science and Technology Museum and was attended by various government authorities and civil society linked to science and technology. On that occasion, the professor Bahiana and director of Fiocruz, Mitermayer Galvãodos Reis, was honored for the relevant services rendered to Science and Technology in Bahia.

Fully free, the shares of Bahiana comprised visits in the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinics of the Bahiana (Brotas and Cabula), workshops and multidisciplinary health activities. The School also provided support to the Boca do Rio Sanitary District for the operation of a vaccination center that served the elderly and children.

Stands

All week, the Bahiana he also participated with stands in the courtyard of the UNEB Science and Technology Museum. Coordinated by Prof. Léa M. dos Santos Ferreira, the stand “Secretory structures in vegetables – where are the active principles that make us good or bad?” offered visitors the possibility to observe, with the use of microscopes, the physical structures of medicinal plants.

Another space from Bahiana at the Museum, it was the Nursing stand that had as coordinators professors of the course, like Professors Robélia Dórea and Kátia Palmeira. The teams from both spaces had the participation of students from the Nursing and Biomedicine courses.

In addition to outpatient care at ADAB units, psycho-educational workshops on chemical dependency and on sexuality, care at the acupuncture clinic and health education activities were also held. Check out the photos.
