A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, through the Center for Teaching and Research in Anatomy (NEPA), promotes the 3rd edition of the project "Be Bahiana is to have health in the vein", on February 18, from 7 am to 14 pm, at HEMOBA, located on the slope of the State General Hospital, in Brotas.

The Project "Being Bahiana is to have Health in the Vein" was created in September 2015, from the NEPA initiative and its proposal for the year 2017 is to integrate the freshmen of the first semester of 2017 in the courses of Biomedicine, Physical Education, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medicine and dentistry of Bahiana in favor of a solidary action that is the donation of blood.

NEPA Coordinator Prof. Rinaldo Barros explains that the project, in addition to bringing together academics from the Bahiana is extended to the general public, and those interested should contact HEMOBA to make the donation, paying attention to the fact of not drinking alcohol 12 hours before, having an 8-hour night's sleep and eating light and healthy food on the day of donation, with children under 18 years of age requiring written parental consent.

"The activity will be divided into three groups of 100 students, taking place from 7:30 am to 9:30 am, 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 11:30 am to 13:30 pm, making up the 300 academics we have in the first semester of 2017."

This year, the event estimates the capture of 100 bags of blood, in just one morning of the activity.
