Humanization through art. This was the proposal of the new format of the Triumphal Entrance of students of the Child Clinic I discipline of the Dentistry course at Bahiana which took place on September 13, at the Cabula Academic Unit. The moment is a tradition in the course, as it marks the beginning of clinical activity in the professional life of academics and, as of this semester, it has been partnered with Neojiba, which this time was represented by its plucked string orchestra.

At the sound of chorinhos and popular music, patients and students were able to experience a process of relaxation, through the appreciation of beauty. The initiative was coordinated by the discipline teachers Ana Carla Robatto, Iza Peixoto and Tatiana Frederico.

According to Ana Carla, the Triumphal Entrance was designed to celebrate an important moment that went unnoticed by the students themselves. “We started to notice that we could mark this day with little things like cutting the ribbon and visiting the clinic and this presence of Neojiba is wonderful, because, in addition to opening the event, it humanizes the waiting room”. The teacher says that there is a project to expand humanization activities in the waiting room of the dental clinic with storytelling and yoga practice for children, before the service, as well as other artistic activities.

"We make this entrance with solemnity so that they feel the responsibility they should have with the patients they will see", declared the coordinator of the Dentistry course, Prof. Urbino Tunis.

Neojiba musician José Carlos Filho, 26, highlights that the moment was also special for him, as he was able to contribute to the well-being of the participants. “I believe that music comes to soften this relationship between the dentist – the doctor himself – and the patient, in which there is already a stigma attached to pain. I would love to be able to go to the dentist and have someone there play a song. So, I feel very happy to be here today, relieving this tense moment. This is a very good initiative by Bahiana".

According to the People Development coordinator at Bahiana, Prof.ª Luiza Ribeiro, the Triunfal Entrance was enriched with the presentation of the Neojiba plucked string orchestra. "We are expanding this partnership between the Bahiana and Neojiba more and more. In fact, as of today, we started to serve 60 members of them in the adolescent dentistry clinic. And, thus, each institution gives its best”.

Academician João Vitor Dantas highlighted the importance of the ceremony. "This was a very good experience, because it's something we'll do for the rest of our lives and Bahiana cherish this moment. The participation of the musicians was also special, as they come at a time when we are tense and it was really good”.
