II Health Fair Taking Care is Good

Bahiana will bring health awareness stands to the community in the neighborhood of Itapuã, on May 21st.

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, through the Extension Program Cuidar Faz Bem, through its Teaching-Assistential Outpatient Clinic and in partnership with Associação HTLVIDA, a support group for HTLV-I and II virus carriers, promotes, on May 21, at 8 am at 13 pm, the II Health Fair “Cuidar Faz Bem”, which takes place at Praça Dorival Caymmi in the neighborhood of Itapuã. The purpose of the program is to develop health promotion and prevention actions aimed at the population of the Itapuã neighborhood, reaffirming the institution's commitment, strengthening the level of information in the communities and enabling academics to exercise citizenship in care.

The action will also make available, through stands, health promotion activities and care for different population groups, such as children, teenagers, women, young adults and the elderly, carried out by students of the Nursing course at Bahiana, under the supervision of teachers, as well as the sale of items through “Brechó Chique”, whose income will be donated to Associação HTLVida.

The health fair will provide spaces for all ages, such as a women's health stand clarifying doubts about breast and cervical cancer prevention, in addition to HTLV prevention and rehabilitation measures, guidance and prevention on mental health, lupus , H1N1, Zica, as well as playful and educational activities for children, among other stands.


PROGRAMME

WOMEN'S HEALTH
• Breast and cervical CA prevention actions;
• Guidelines on sexual and reproductive health: exposure of contraceptive methods and referral to the ADAB-Brotas;
• Rounds of conversations about sexually transmitted diseases and prevention measures;
• Newsletters/guidelines: violence against women/Maria da Penha Law.

CHILD'S TIME
• Information to parents: actions that translate the monitoring of the child's growth and development – ​​ACD;
• Playful activities: games, paintings, music, games, pogo sticks;
• Emerging diseases: talking about Zica and H1N1: information, guidelines and prevention measures.

HTLVIDA ASSOCIATION: EMPHASIS ON INFORMATION ON HTLV INFECTION
• Disclosure of this injury with an emphasis on measures of promotion, prevention and rehabilitation;
• Presentation of the georeferencing of HTLV prevalence in Salvador and the State of Bahia, built by the HTLV Integrative and Multidisciplinary Center of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública;
• Dissemination of the actions developed by the HTLV Integrative and Multidisciplinary Center in the Bahiana.

MENTAL HEALTH
• Guidance on how to approach the person with the mental disorder;
• Emphasis on the importance of the family: emotional support in combating stigma and social reintegration;
• Network of existing references in Salvador;
• Distribution of informative material.

HYPERDIA
• Detection, guidance and encouragement of activities that provide quality of life for citizens with diabetes mellitus and high blood pressure:
• Guidance on risk factors and referral to ADAB-Brotas;
• Obesity:
• Smoking
• Dyslipidemia:
• Emphasis on guidelines regarding healthy lifestyle and habits: physical activity, healthy eating,
• Blood pressure measurement with guidance and information about the service network;
• Measurement of capillary blood glucose with guidance on the service network (specific group with diabetes mellitus or risk factors);
• Calculation of body mass index: guidance and information about the service network.

CHIC THREADSHOP
• Sale of accessories, clothing and shoes with income for the HTLVida Association.

EPILEPSY
• Reports on epilepsy: working to deconstruct the stigma related to this condition and reports on the outpatient clinic at ADAB-Brotas;
• Simulation of epileptic seizures by nursing and psychology students aiming to strengthen the community's level of information.

HUMBERTO CASTRO LIMA HOSPITAL - HHCL
• Information and guidance: measures to prevent and preserve visual acuity;
• Diseases that affect patients with HTLV: uveitis, seratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye);
