I Symposium on Embryology

Share

Student protagonism, a characteristic that marks the student of Bahiana, set the agenda for the I Symposium on Embryology, promoted by the Academic Directory GRAM, of the Biomedicine Bear. The event took place last Saturday at the Cabula Academic Unit and brought together biomedicine students from Bahiana and other institutions in Salvador.

According to the administrative director of the DA, Larissa Pinho de Carvalho, the idea of the symposium came about when there was a deficiency among students in relation to the subject. "First, we held a class on basic embryology because we realized that the students had a lot of deficiency in this subject. We made the class so that people could get to know it, clarify doubts with the professor. It was open to all semesters and students from other institutions also participated. we decided to hold the symposium and include Assisted Human Reproduction, as it is one of the specialties of the biomedic".

The program took place throughout the day and began with a class on basic embryology given by Professor Dr. André Maurício Costa Ramos during the morning shift. In the afternoon, it was the turn of teacher Jéssica Fernandes dos Santos to address Assisted Human Reproduction (RHA). To end the symposium, Professor Dr. Antônio Fernando Pereira Falcão addressed ethics at RHA, which culminated in a debate with the participants.

"The DA's main mission is to show that Biomedicine is not a profession that should be submissive to others. Mainly because we work a lot, we have the capacity and we are in very interesting areas and Bahiana it empowers people to work in these areas and, as it is a very new profession, some areas are becoming outstanding. So, we always try to propose updates, topics that need to be better studied in the course, to complement it”, explains the vice president of DA GRAM, Raphaela Lisboa.

She says that the DA of Biomedicine at Bahiana it is already old, having been instituted in the first class of the course. In addition, the vice president emphasizes the active role of the management group, which, this year alone, has already held several cultural events, in addition to the embryology and hematology classes and last Saturday's symposium.
