Neojibá Music Education: First Aid Monitoring

Share

For 8 hours, the members of the Neojibá music education project were entertained with new knowledge on First Aid assistance, during a training held on February 20 at the Cabula Academic Unit by the First Aid Monitoring group of the course. Medicine, coordinated by Professor André Zimmermann.

According to the professor, the objective of the course was "to provide notions about First Aid to Neojibá members, because they travel a lot and don't know how to act in emergency situations". In addition to the young musicians, teachers and project employees also participated in the activity, bringing together a group of 37 people.

During the program, various issues of First Aid were addressed, such as Initial Care, Musculoskeletal Trauma, Clinical Emergencies (fainting, hypotension, hypertension and seizures), Upper and Lower Limb Immobilizations, Blood Pressure Measurement, Dressings, Animal Bite and Stings, Burns, CPR and AED.

According to Zimmermann, the 21 monitors that make up the monitoring group and the Academic Supervisor were responsible for giving theoretical and practical classes to Neojibá's components.

“Our young people really enjoyed the activity and learned the importance of acting in the right way in situations where people need help and/or are at risk. They participated actively and with great interest in both theoretical and demonstrative classes, they will certainly bring the teachings to life and practice when necessary. The team of instructors was wonderful, knew how to captivate the class and the comments I heard were of satisfaction and enchantment. I can only thank you for this partnership and for the commitment of Bahiana in passing on such important knowledge”, declared the project's Human Resources coordinator, Rosanice Dallacort.

First Aid Monitoring

The First Aid Monitoring of the Medicine course, which is headed by Professor André Zimmermann, has been carrying out, for 19 years, the First Aid for All Program (PPSPT), which consists of an outreach activity that aims to bring notions of First Aid to different places. Activities have already been developed in neighborhood communities, public and private schools, companies, parishes, college entrance courses, gyms, the Military Police of the State of Bahia, the Army, Lemos de Brito Penitentiary, among others. "We've even gone to other cities like Morro de São Paulo, Valença, Feria de Santana and Jacobina", says Zimmermann.
