Urgency and Emergency Course in Psychiatry receives applications

Students from the 9th to the 12th semester of the Medicine course interested in deepening their knowledge in mental health for care in urgent and emergency services have until February 17 to register for the Urgency and Emergency Course in Psychiatry. The course is free and 20 places will be available.

The course will be coordinated by Prof. Antônio Freire and classes will take place from February 18 to April 30. Theoretical content will be worked on in the Academic Unit Brotas and practical classes will be held at Hospital Juliana Moreira.

With a comprehensively designed program, the course aims to provide students with theoretical and practical support and help them identify symptoms and signs of major mental disorders, as well as the best approach to be adopted in emergency situations of routine care, both for general practitioners and specialists in other medical areas other than psychiatry.
