New from Bahiana takes place at the Cabula Academic Unit

"I have many friends who study here and I only hear good references, so that's what I hope for my education, studying in a welcoming institution with excellence in teaching", says Ravena Sena, 21, a freshman in the Biomedicine course who attended present at Novos da Bahiana 2016.1, on January 22, at the Cabula Academic Unit.

The event, which marked the reception of new academics from the Bahiana, had the participation of special guests, such as the managing partner of Véli Soluções em RH, Margot Azevedo, one of the promoters of the project to train athletes in the communities of Flamengo and Araras, in the hinterland of Bahia, which is coordinated by Antônio Ferreira Bonfim (Ferreirinha), main speaker for the morning. The moment gained its artistic tone with the musical presentation of psychologists from the Psicopedagógica Attention Nucleus (NAPP), Débora Ferraz and Gustavo Vilas Boas. 

On the occasion, the Novos da Bahiana The coordinators of Medicine (Prof. Eliana de Paula), Biomedicine (Prof. Geraldo Argolo), Physical Education (Prof. Clárcson Plácido), Physiotherapy (Prof. Luciana Bilitário), Dentistry (Prof. . Urbino Tunes), Psychology (Prof. Sylvia Barreto), in addition to the entire NAPP team.

According to the coordinator of the NAPP, Angélica Mendes, the Bahiana establishes a network of relationships with students, believing in the potential of each one. “We know what we do and we know who we are. We believe in the students and many return home as professionals”, he explains.

During the program, physical educator Ferreirinha presented a lecture about his initiative to set up an athletics school in the villages of Flamengo and Araras, in the interior of Bahia.

“It is a pleasure to be here at a very renowned college in Bahia and, for us, today is very important, as we came to bring a simple history from the countryside, a change in culture when we implemented the philosophy of athletics and we can establish the philosophy of life between children and parents that physical activity is necessary and achieves significant results for health, family life and the community”, he says.

"Each class that arrives is a great responsibility, a moment of reflection on the importance that we are reviewing our principles, values, in order to pass this on to students with dynamism and with the hope of training excellent professionals", reports the Coordinator of the Medicine course, Prof. Eliana de Paula.

According to Prof. Luiza Ribeiro, coordinator of People Development at Bahiana, it is always a joy to welcome freshmen because it is a moment of renewal in the institution. “Whenever we think of the Novos da Bahiana, we think with our hearts because we always seek to bring new inspirations to these young people who are arriving here and today, especially having the presence of a figure like Ferreirinha and her daughter Naviny, showing a real and concrete story that is this noble work that he does, it is for sure a grand meeting for the new students and future professionals of the Bahiana", Ends.
