Professor Milena Bastos Brito was selected as one of the participants in the Young Medical Leadership Program of the National Academy of Medicine (ANM). The certificate awarding ceremony to the 20 awarded young doctors was held on November 12th, at an ordinary session of the ANM, in Rio de Janeiro.

Physicians from all over the country, with less than 40 years of age and medical-scientific productivity compatible with the current stage of their careers, were nominated. The indication of Milena – the only representative of the North-Northeast and one of the two women who will be part of the group – was made to CAPES by the Post-Graduate Course in Medicine and Human Health, coordinated by Prof. Ana Marice Teixeira Ladeia.

Established by the Interacademic Medical Panel (IAMP), the Young Medical Leaders Program arises from the need to identify and encourage new leaders around the world. The selected physicians will form a working group active in the exchange of scientific information, acting as catalysts for strategies and promoting scientific activities and systematic reviews in their areas of expertise.
