Bahiana hosts the III Bahia Congress on Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Intensive Care Physiotherapy

From November 12th to 14th, the Convention Center of the Bahiana at the Academic Unit of Cabula, he received the III Bahia Congress on Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Intensive Care Physiotherapy.

The event brought together around 200 participants, including physiotherapists, physiotherapy students, representatives of various teaching and care institutions in Bahia, guests from different states, specialists and researchers in Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Intensive Care Physiotherapy. The program involved discussions and brought relevant topics such as Physiotherapeutic Diagnosis at the Hospital and the implementation and use of the International Classification of Functioning in the Hospital Scope, proposed by the Ministry of Health.

     

The opening of the event was directed by the coordinator of the Physiotherapy course, Prof. Luciana Bilitário, founding member of the Regional Bahia da Associação, who highlighted the importance and consolidation of the specialty and the support of the Bahiana since the first Congress that also took place at the school, in 2011. This year the event was chaired by the graduate and doctoral student in the postgraduate course at Bahiana, Prof. Bruno Silver Martinez. “The program was a success and had great relevance, not only for professionals, but also for students interested in the area, and Assobrafir will always be able to count on the support of this institution”, declared Profa. Luciana Bilitário.

The teachers of the Physiotherapy course at Bahiana, Fleury Ferreira and Francisco Tiago Oliveira, gave lectures on weaning from mechanical ventilation and the use of the 50m walk test, which was developed by Prof. Cristiane Dias in the research group at the institution and is recognized worldwide as a safe functional assessment tool for patients with acute coronary artery disease in the ICU.

     

During the event, students also had wide participation in the organizing academic committee and the 6th semester student and scientific initiation scholarship holder, Tais Nascimento, was awarded along with Profa. Ana Lúcia Góes with third place in the presentation of posters on work developed in the professor's master's degree program in Medicine and Human Health at Bahiana.
