Exhibition A Little of Each

Share

"This is the product of the work of an entire year that was developed with patients from the groups of the Mental Health and Elderly Health Programs of the Occupational Therapy Service, where expressive and artisanal activities are worked on in the workshops", explains the coordinator of the Occupational Therapy Service (SERTO) of the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic of the Bahiana (ADAB), Sofia Campos, in the exhibition “A Little of Each One” that took place on November 18, at the Academic Unit Brotas da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública.

The main objective of these works developed in the elderly group is focused on health promotion and socialization of these patients. The Mental Health Program group, in turn, involves a therapeutic approach, and the issues of patients who suffer from mental disorders are addressed through expressive activities.

“I am delighted with this exhibition with so many gifted and capable people. These activities considerably improve my life, as we develop manual skills and being in contact with other people is wonderful”, says Antonieta Góes, 79, a patient in the Elderly Health Program.

The activities developed allow the exchange of experiences between patients and allow for an exchange of knowledge. The member of the Elderly Health Program, Joselita Rosa Goés, reports that her work is a lot of fun in her daily life. “I'm very lonely, I live alone and this opportunity here, at ADAB, is unique, as I meet new people, chat, produce and stay in touch with other realities”, she concludes.
