Bahiana holds 1st Symposium of the Material and Sterilization Center (CME)

The event promoted the exchange of knowledge and experiences with professionals involved with patient safety and work at the CME.

On May 29th and 30th, the 1st Symposium of the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública in the Material and Sterilization Center (CME): The CME in the Context of Patient Safety, at the Cabula Academic Unit.

     


The program brought together professors and students of the Nursing course, as well as health professionals with the aim of sharing knowledge and experiences about patient safety and work at the CME, discussing quality and service management, process safety and the microbiological aspects in the reprocessing of materials used in health care. The content also considered the advances that have taken place in the history of sterilization with the development of new technologies and strategies that have a direct impact on patient safety.

Nurses and nurses from the Santa Izabel, Português, São Rafael hospitals and the Instituto Cárdio Pulmonar da Bahia were present, in addition to Prof. Eliana Auxiliadora Magalhães Costa, from the State University of Bahia, and Prof. Kazuko Uchikawa Graziano, from the University of São Paulo and Giovana Abrahão de Araújo Moriya, from Hospital Albert Einstein.
