Share

The Convention Center of Bahiana hosted, on September 10, 11 and 12, the 300st Journey of Medical Anatomy of Bahia (JAMEB), an initiative of the Center for Teaching and Research in Anatomy (NEPA). The event was attended by around XNUMX students from various institutions such as the Bahiana, UFBA, UEFS, UNIFACS, FTC, UNEB, UESB, among others.

“The greatest happiness is to observe that an event of this magnitude was organized exclusively by academics, demonstrating that the student can really be the active subject in the construction of knowledge, contributing to the sedimentation of their learning”, says Prof. Rinaldo Barros, president of the event. “They grow up as the medical professionals they will be, learning to manage scientific events. The initiative also promotes the improvement of interpersonal relationships, through teamwork linked to the development of the administrative profile”, complements Prof. Rinaldo.

On Thursday (10/09), the pre-day courses were held: Procedural Anatomy, carried out by NEPA, under the supervision of Prof. Rinaldo Barros; Radiological Anatomy, carried out by the Academic League of Clinical Anatomy (LAAC) and the Teaching and Research Nucleus in Radiological Anatomy (NEPAR), under the teaching supervision of Prof. Carolina Lins; Semiological Anatomy, performed by the Academic League of General Medicine (LAMEG), under the teaching supervision of Prof. Emerentine Araújo; Palpatory Anatomy, performed by NEPA, under the teaching supervision of Prof. Prof. Bruno Goes and Research Methodology, carried out by NEPA, under the teaching supervision of Prof. Diego Rabelo and Prof. Marcus Santana.

The opening ceremony was held on Thursday (10/09) in the evening and broadcast live by the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE). On the occasion, Prof. Diego Menezes, Research and Innovation coordinator at Bahiana represented the direction of the institution. "Being the Bahiana a top-ranked school, this event held by NEPA with a standard of excellence could not be different, allowing the School to always believe in and support projects of this level”, he declared.

The ceremony was marked by a request for peace with a minute of silence in respect of the passing of student Mariana Teles, followed by the chanting of the National Anthem. Subsequently, the guest speaker Prof. Dr. Isac Jorge Filho - from Ribeirão Preto (SP), digestive tract surgeon and Head of the Service of Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Ribeirão Preto and professor of Ethics and Bioethics at the University of Ribeirão Preto, delivered the magna lecture : Ethical and Bioethical Aspects of Corpse Donation.

Also as part of the opening program, Prof. Rinaldo Barros presented the video of the Corpse Presentation Humanization Project, which is carried out by NEPA in the Medicine course. The congregation of those present ended with a cocktail party, to the sound of the voice and guitar of former NEPA monitor, Ian Branco. "Medical schools need to be concerned, before training doctors, in training medical citizens and I observe, for an event like this and in the concern to approach this theme, that the Bahiana it is doing this with great propriety”, says Dr. Isac Jorge Filho.

The I JAMEB Scientific Program included two conferences on topics of clinical relevance given by renowned experts in the field and a round table of anatomy classes given by NEPA monitors.

"Impressive to see the quality of this event and the level of interest of the students, noting that the Anatomy of Bahiana reborn finding itself highlighted among medical institutions”, says Dr. Marcos Almeida, coordinator of the Master's Program in Health Technologies at Bahiana.

For Prof. Dr. Humberto de Castro Lima Filho, who gave the lecture Epilepsy from diagnosis to treatment: what has changed, “events like this one at NEPA are what make a difference in the academic formation of our students, we have to encourage the existence of others, because the students like it and want it”.

The event was concluded with a NEPA roundtable composed by the current student supervisors Júlia Pereira, Leonardo Peixoto and Lucas Pedreira, who presented the functioning model of the nucleus, from the selection process, training for qualification and daily functioning in practical activities. Also participating in the activity were the NEPA scientific advisors, Prof. Bruno Goes, who spoke about the project to extend the nucleus with the Palpatory Anatomy course; the radiologist Dr. Carolina Lins, presenting the NEPA extension project of the Radiological Anatomy Axis, as part of the curricular component of the Medicine student at Bahiana - making a transversal axis from the 1st to the 3rd semester, and professors Diego Rabelo and Marcus Santana who approached the NEPA extension project with the Research Methodology course.

In addition to the roundtable presentations, a tribute was paid to the President of the Event, Prof. Rinaldo Barros, by all of the JAMEB Organizing Committee who thanked you for your encouragement, unconditional support for the realization of this Journey.

The program included a series of lectures given by invited professors and professionals, held over the last two days.
