Psychologist's Day is celebrated in Bahiana

“Today I woke up very homesick. It's important when we've already managed to build a trajectory and share a place not only of maturity, but of cool experiences with psychology. I woke up thanking you for choosing to be a psychologist and I think when we say thank you, we recognize it. Therefore, I would like to acknowledge, because today, in addition to being the psychologist's day, I celebrate 21 years of graduation", highlighted the coordinator of the Psychology course, Sylvia Barreto, in the celebration of Psychologist's Day, on August 27 at the Unit academic Brotas, from Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública.

The highlight of the program was the participation of the music therapist and psychologist, Aline Góes, who gave the lecture “Interfaces between Psychology and Music Therapy”. Also present were the coordinator of the Psychopedagogical Care Center (NAPP), Angélica Mendes, the People Development manager at Bahiana, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro and the psychology professor Rafael Fernandes.

In her speech, Aline Góes explained the role of music therapy in her work as a psychologist. “Music therapy has an interdisciplinary approach, dialogues with the psychic universe and brings to the subject greater possibilities of expressiveness, of symbolic and subjective construction”, he concludes.

During the event, the former coordinators of the Psychology course at the Bahiana, Prof. Rosália Correia and Prof. Mônica Daltro. During the celebration, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro delivered the “Golden Butterfly” to the coordinator of NAPP, Angélica Mendes.

"I feel honored and valued by this great family that is the Bahiana. Here we have the opportunity to do and see our doing have an effect and the institution returns to us either through words or in a form of recognition of how this doing is important to academia. Today, I feel happy because I see the fruit of my work, how much I have built from friends and that I contribute to the training of professionals in the field of psychology. We work with health and we have to do healthy things”, reports the honored.

 "Psychology is part of the main axis of Bahiana, when we think that health is taking care of the other and, then, this course so well structured that has been evolving in recent years at the institution, visibly, a very important recognition from the community is part of the soul of the entire philosophy of the School", commit Prof. Luiza Ribeiro.

The Psychologist's Day was a date surrounded by tributes combined with music and had the effective participation of students in the event. “This day is extremely important for the recognition of our profession. Today, we learn new approaches, such as music therapy, and how to value the career we are going to follow", concludes the 4th semester student of the Psychology course, Camila Nunes.
