New from Bahiana takes place at the Cabula Academic Unit

“This institution is a reference that I have from my family. My father studied here, I even went to another college, I locked it up, I went back to the course just to study at Bahiana”, reports Tiago Figueiredo, 20, a freshman in the Medicine course who attended the Novos da Bahiana 2015.2, reception of new students from the institution that took place on July 17, at the Cabula Academic Unit.

The event marked the opening of the school semester, welcoming freshmen and featured the presentation of Coral Canta Bahiana and the drama of theater director Meran Vargens, who presented the dramatic lecture “Art: expanding the perception of oneself, expanding the perception of the world”.

The director of the Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the coordinator of Undergraduate and Graduate Teaching, Prof. Maria de Lourdes de Freitas Gomes, the coordinator of People Development, Prof. Luiza de Oliveira Kruschewsky Ribeiro, o Coordinator of Administration and Finance, Emanoel Olimpio Alves de Souza and coordinators of Medicine (Prof. Eliana de Paula), Biomedicine (Prof. Geraldo Argolo), Physical Education (Prof. Clárcson Plácido), Nursing (Prof. Cristiane) Magali), Physiotherapy (Prof. Luciana Bilitário), Dentistry (Prof. Urbino Tunes) and Psychology (Prof. Sylvia Barreto).

According to Dr. Maria Luisa, the reception was a moment of renewal and gratification both for new students and for the entire faculty of the Bahiana. “Each year is unique and very refreshing for all of us, as it restarts a learning cycle, where we welcome students and monitor their entire training period”, he concludes.

"Pass the Bahiana it was the realization of a dream, because I always wanted to study here”, reports the freshman of the Biomedicine course, Mauricio Galvão, 18 years old, who was very happy to join the institution and his expectations with the course are the best possible.

The freshman was very exciting and had the effective participation of all coordinators, directors, teachers and freshmen. "It is an innovative and extremely important experience, because as we welcome a freshman, we have the opportunity to show him the face of the Institution and a little of the essence of the work that we will develop", explains the manager of the Psychopedagogical Care Center (NAPP ), Prof. Angelica Mendes.

"It's a mixture of nervousness and emotion, as it took years of dedication to have this gift of studying at Bahiana. Many of my friends study here and I know I can trust the competence and tradition of such a well-regarded school in Salvador”, says Juliana Bahia, 18, a freshman in the Dentistry course.
