The coordinator of the Physiotherapy course at Bahiana, professor Luciana Bilitário, explains that this year the central theme of the journey was research. “The idea was to discuss everything in the research, it is not a technical, professional journey. This year the objective was to cover applied research for the clinic, thinking of research not only for those who will do Master's and Doctorate degrees, but for those who will work in clinics and hospitals, thus motivating learning in research, in the thinking of a researcher in investigating the which should be used, new techniques that emerge and approach”. It is an opportunity for the student to present their research, together with the interaction of professors, and the most interesting thing about this process is that we have students from the 5th semester already presenting their course conclusion work that will be defended in the 8th semester ”, he reports.

Professor Adriana Campos reports that the journey is a very constructive initiative for the process of educating students. “This journey is a fantastic initiative, as our profession is young and certainly needs a lot of research to establish itself as an “accredited profession”. ”. Encouraging students to understand what research is and its context for their training is fundamental”.

Dr. Patrícia Lôrdelo, adjunct professor of the master's and doctorate at Bahiana, emphasizes that the journey is an achievement for the course of Bahiana. “The Physiotherapy Journey is an achievement for our course, which is recognized precisely for the research issue and this only confirms and gratifies this recognition”. The event sought to integrate the students of the Physiotherapy course with market perspectives in research and notions of the clinical market.

Marina Lemos Carvalho, a student in the 7th semester of the Physiotherapy course, points out that the journey is very constructive for her training and that she even got an approved project and was awarded a grant from the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado da Bahia (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado da Bahia) ( FAPESB).
