Scientific Session discusses the importance of clinic and statistics in the research process

Meeting takes place next Tuesday.

On March 17, from 15 pm, the Center for Teaching in Research Methodology (NEMP) of the Physiotherapy course at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública performs the Scientific Session: Clinical Significance and Statistical Significance, with Prof. Dr. Abrahão Fontes Baptista. The event is open to the public and aimed at undergraduate students and researchers in the health field. 

The meeting aims to provide theoretical support on the clinical and statistical relevance, as well as promote discussions on the subject. The NEMP is coordinated by the professor of the Physiotherapy course, Marcus Vinicius de Brito Santana, and has the collaboration of Physiotherapy monitors and students, Daniele de Brito, Innah Portella, Gabriel Venas and Maria Eduarda Carvalho.


Prof. doctor Abrahão Fontes Baptista

Graduated in Physiotherapy from the Brazilian Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (1992), with specialization in Higher Education Teaching from Faculdade Béthèncourt da Silva (1993), improvement in Operative Technique and Experimental Surgery by Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública (1999), Master (2005) and Ph.D. (2007) in Morphological Sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and post-doctorate at the University of Western Sydney (2014). 

He has experience in clinical, educational and research areas, having as main interests the topics of pain, injury and peripheral nerve regeneration and functional electrical stimulation. He is currently adjunct professor III at the Department of Biomorphology at the Federal University of Bahia. He is responsible for the Functional Electrostimulation Laboratory at UFBA, professor on the permanent staff of the Graduate Program in Medicine and Health at UFBA and collaborating professor at the Graduate Program in Medicine and Health and Technology and Health at Bahiana.
