Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is an aggravating problem mainly in the adult female population: about 30% of its symptoms are loss of urine on exertion, exercise, sneezing or coughing, as per the 2009 International Continence Society consensus. causing a social and hygienic problem. Many women, even experiencing the discomfort and embarrassment of urine loss, do not seek specific treatment to solve the problem.
Based on this issue, the Pelvic Floor Care Center (CAAP), linked to the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, with the support of the Municipal Health Department, will carry out, from next Saturday, March 7, in the Parque de Pituaçu, a series of actions to promote intimate health. Always from 8:12 am to 22:XNUMX pm, on Saturdays and Sundays, until March XNUMX, CAAP professionals will coordinate workshops, experiences and workshops in order to spread information to promote the prevention of voiding changes and pelvic floor functions and disorders.
Program
The action will feature the team from the Pelvic Floor Care Center (CAAP) who will be in direct contact with visitors, asking questions, applying questionnaires, clearing up doubts, in addition to developing individual assessments with a team of doctors, physiotherapists and psychologists, including anamnesis and physical assessment.
Throughout the month, workshops will be held "Knowing the Perineum", which will address dynamics with breathing techniques and specific exercises for the perineum muscles; "Fitness Sex", which will deal with aspects of human sexuality, sexual function and dysfunctions, especially related to women, and "Psychotherapy for All", when the psychological and emotional impacts resulting from pelvic dysfunctions will be evaluated and some possible approaches to your treatment.
