Parapraia Project arrives in Ribeira

Next Saturday, the parabeach project arrives at the beach of Riverside. The initiative, which promotes free bathing in the sea for the physically handicapped and people with reduced mobility, will always be held on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9:13 am to 8:XNUMX pm, until February XNUMXth.

Parapraia had its first edition in the summer of 2014, at Ondina beach, where it happened again from January 3rd to 18th, 2015. The project is an initiative of the Sustainable City Secretariat, carried out with the support of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, Salvador Shopping and Banco Itaú.

Infrastructure

To enable bathing in the sea, the project offers a complete infrastructure with special bathrooms, parasols, tents and access lanes to the beach. The sea bath is accompanied by students and professors from the Physiotherapy course at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, with the aid of amphibious chairs. The work also has the support of lifeguards, physical educators and monitors.
