CEDIMI - Center for Childhood Voiding Disorders

The Center for Urinal Disorders in Childhood - CEDIMI is the first reference center in Bahia specialized in the treatment of voiding disorders in children and works in partnership with Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, serving the public free of charge, at the Teaching-Assistential Outpatient Clinic of the Bahiana (ADAB), in Brotas.

The CEDIMI team is multidisciplinary, consisting of a pediatric urologist, a physiotherapist, nurses, a nutritionist and a psychologist who have complete urodynamic equipment. In addition to caring for children, the center pays special attention to parents, advising them on how to deal with the problem of bed-wetting (night enuresis) and other voiding disorders.

The center has as founders the urologist Dr. Ubirajara Barroso and the physiotherapist Dr. Patrícia Lordêlo, pioneers in the use of physiotherapy to treat voiding changes. This is the case of biofeedback and surface parasacral electrostimulation techniques, which are proven to be more effective than traditional treatment, made with medications. In addition to the best results, the use of physiotherapy discards the side effects caused by the drugs.

CEDIMI attends free of charge once a week. New patients should look for the Center on Wednesdays, starting at 13 pm.
