LABESB participates in action with Kiriri tribe

The members of the Bahia League for Education in Oral Health (LABESB) were, from August 9th to 15th, 2014, at Tribo Kiriri, in the city of Banzaê, exchanging knowledge between the university and the population. The visit took place at the invitation of the Community Curriculum Activity program at the Federal University of Bahia and involved 60 undergraduates and professionals from 13 different courses to serve around 400 people, with several workshops from health to the pedagogical area.

Six dental undergraduate students from LABESB were involved in the project, under the coordination of Prof. Antônio Pita and the dental surgeon, Carlota Dourado, who worked through the mobile office of the Bahiana and stretchers mounted in an external environment, performing restorative procedures, removing stones, sealing cavities, among other procedures, with the objective of adapting the oral environment of the population, in addition to performing, together with the Pet UFBA, promotion and education actions in oral health, with distribution of children's kits sponsored by Colgate.
