The Center for Teaching and Research in Anatomy (NEPA) of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, Descriptive Anatomy monitoring group of the Medicine Course, attended the Brazilian Congress of Anatomy, which took place from September 29 to October 2 at the FIEP Convention Center, in Curitiba, participating with the presentation of a free theme and five posters .

NEPA's scientific advisors are Prof. Bruno Goes, Prof. Diego Rabelo and Prof. Marcus Vinicius Santana. The teaching coordinator, Prof. Rinaldo Antunes Barros, student supervisors (5th semester academics) Antônio Figueiredo Filho, Gustavo Lucena and Thomaz Passos; M2 monitors (4th semester students), Amanda Almeida, Beatriz Costa, Fernando Medrado Júnior, Guilherme Dahia, Luan Bonfim, Priscila Lago, Thiago Carvalho and Vitor Correia; and monitors M1 (3rd semester academics), Emily Carneiro, Ian Branco, Julia Pereira, Leonardo Peixoto, Lucas Pedreira and Mayara Silva. Academics Daniel Souza Júnior and Lucas Barreiro are also part of the group.

According to Prof. Rinaldo Antunes Barros, "NEPA stood out as a standard of Anatomy monitoring to be followed in the country for its technical competence, organizational profile and quality of the works presented" He highlights the recognition of the group that had one of its works appreciated by the international speaker, Dr. Anne Gilroy (USA), author of two recognized Atlas of Anatomy. "She attended the poster session, attending exclusively to watch the presentation of monitor Luan with the work of “Drawing Making as a Teaching Tool by the Anatomy Monitor – Science and Art”, and said she was impressed with the quality of the group, congratulating -o by the proposal, being discussed the possibility of publishing a photographic atlas, made by the students of Bahiana", says Prof. Rinaldo.

The recognition of NEPA was propagated during the event in a very dynamic way, with Prof. Rinaldo was invited to join the panel of reviewers for other works and to participate in a roundtable on the “Nucleus for Teaching and Research in Anatomy – A Monitoring Model”, having focused on the well-structured model of Biomorphology, in the 1st year of Medicine, with emphasis on the standardization and systematization of practical activities in Descriptive Anatomy, being applauded by the audience as an example to be followed in the country. “Much more than a monitoring group, it's a matter of love. First love for what you do; second love for the institution of which he is a part and, last but not least, love for everyone who is working around him in the Nucleus (monitors and teachers). That's why we call ourselves the NEPA family”, emphasizes Dr. Rinaldo.

Colleges such as São João Del Rey, Rio Verde, Paraíba, UFRJ, PUC-Paraná, USP São Paulo, among others, showed interest in partnerships to implement the monitoring model proposed by NEPA. "It was important for the monitors, academics from Bahiana ratify their potential and observe how differentiated they are in the academic environment, given the profile and posture they exercise, being recognized by the most diverse universities in the country as an unbelievable potential. Words such as Impressive, Fantastic and Perfect were part of our routine at the congress. Proud to be NEPA. Proud of beeing Bahiana”, celebrates Prof. Rinaldo.
